All of Long Island is a Beach.  Queens included

Our favorite New York City Beach was Riis Park on the southern edge of Queens. It is New York City

These photos include some of our beach time in July, August and September

The Atlantic takes a few summer months to warm up.  Riis Park featured life guards beginning on Memorial Day.  The weather could be fine but the Atlantic Ocean did not get comfortable warm until later in June.

The life guards finish their duty on Labor Day but the ocean stays swimably warm until, and almost into November.  The crowds go home after Labor Day so there is peace and quiet at the beach for at least two more months
