Emogene Grams in 1942 with her Trombone

Dennis inherited the Trombone but was not interested in playing it.

The home of Reta Grams and her children was in Augusta Wisconsin at the corner of East Perkins and Wood Street in north east Augusta.  You can see a map of Perkins and Wood Street and the city of Augusta.

Dennis remembers trying to learn how to play the trombone by joining the Augusta Band when he was in the 8th Grade at the Kirkham Valley School.  Dennis would take the bus to the Augusta High gym and Mr. Senn, the band teacher, would try his hardest to get a good sound out of the trombone.  It didn't happen.

Emogene was so proud about her success with the horn.

There is a photo booth photo close up of Emogene in Mom Scans
