Dennis and Helton Shared over the years
Dennis shared the car with his roommate. Dennis continued the payments and Charles agreed to license it and pay the insurance.
Charles did not follow through with the promise - the car was stolen but Charles had never had it ensured. Charles lost out on the deal because Dennis insisted he finish the payments. The car was missed but it was not replaced because transportation in New York City is possible with public conveyance.
