Visit to Oliveira Brazil 2015, Helton's Home Town in the State of Minas Gerais, July 21 and 22

We rented a car with automatic transmission in Belo Horizonte for the two day trip to Oliveira. The rental cost was R$ 400.00, about US$ 125.00 (A car with manual transmission would have been 40% less). Gas was an additional US$ 50.00 for the approximately 250 miles we drove, about US$ 3.90 a gallon.
Helton told us that a GPS rental was not necessary, that he knew the way. We insisted but the rental company did not include it in the rental. Dennis drove but Helton proceeded to get us lost less than 2 blocks from the rental company. We wasted almost an hour finding the correct thoroughfare.
Oliveira is a small town with a population of about 40,000, smaller than Eau Claire Wisconsin
We get to meet Concinha and Heber's family, son Ariel, daughter Bruna, Fred their dog and other friends. We were served beautiful meals and were welcomed as friends forever. Thank you much
We visits Maria Helena's house, the village square, Babette's house, a nice bar and restaurant with Tarcio and Ines, a candy store / factory and other sites around town
We expect Heber and Concinha, and Bruna and Ariel if the can get away, to visit us in Eau Claire and Durand Wisconsin soon. Esperamos Heber e Concinha, e Bruna e Ariel se o pode fugir, a visitar-nos em Eau Claire Durand Wisconsin e em breve
Ines and Tarcisio have an apartment in Belo Horizonte. Debbie, Sharon and Connor stayed there for their entire adventure. Thank you
