It wasn't much prom for the King and Queen
Many days and hours of preparation but the organizers of the annual formal dance ruled that the King and Queen should not arrive until just before the coorination. That left enough time for the crowning, the prominade around the (gym) dance floor and about 3 dances. It all ended at 11 pm as was the tradition during the time.
In 1965 Augusta Wisconsin chose the prom king by all classes voting
. The queen was then chosen by the elected king
