Dennis shared the car with his roommate.  Dennis continued the payments and Charles agreed to license it and pay the insurance.

Charles did not follow through with the promise - the car was stolen but Charles had never had it ensured.  Charles lost our on the deal because Dennis insisted the finish the payments.  The car was missed but it was not replaced because transportation in New York City is possible with public conveyance.
