Beekman Tower

The Beekman Tower from the Brooklyn Bridge Walkway.  The building is the tallest downtown and will be until the Freedom Tower,
the replacement for the World Trade Center is topped out in 2011 or 2012

The Beekman Tower is 76 stories, by Architect Frank Gehrey - the tower is new and not occupied as of September 2010.  The
Building will have a elementary school, the New York University Downtown Hospital , and over 900 residences

Retail space and parking garage space will occupy the lower floors and sublevels.  The lower floors have a brick facade to match neighborhood buildings

Although the building is prominent on Beekman Street, it will have an 8 Spruce Street, New York, New York address.

The Beekman Pub is directly across from the new building.  The 60 Story Woolworth Building is in the Background.
The new building dominates the lower Manhattan skyline and it's gleam because it is one of the tallest buildings in New York City

The building is sandwiched between the East River, Brooklyn Bridge and its on-ramps and City Hall Park on Park Row
