Last | Back to index Dennis and Emogene in Autumn Augusta
The area is heavily populated by Amish family farmers
We could smell and taste the dust from the mining activity and the dust was everywhere on building roofs as we drove through the countryside
The sand dust is heavy in minute particles of silica, a glass like particle. We are glad we don't live in Augusta any more. Silica shards gets into ones lungs and never comes out. The mine is less than two miles from town
