The last of the snow had gone - over 22 inches in the first two weeks of April, 2018
We planted two days after this photograph
We were too impatient. The book says to work some strong fertilizer into the bales, water heavily for two weeks, waiting for the soil seeded as start to decay. We didn't wait
The "soil" became slime before it was fully composted, and it "burned" our seeded pole beans, radishes, lettuces and cucumbers. We tried to re-seed a few weeks later but it still was not ready. Plus, because of the record cold April, the garden got off to a slow start
