We began planning this trip in earnest in January

Orestus was a hold out.  He protested going, for what reason Stella and I did not know.  Stella insisted even though he continually protested.  Stella told Dennis to get him a flight ticket and include him in the hotel registration.  That I did

The day came for us to take off.  We flew from Kennedy Airport on United and arrived at about 11 am.  Our first stop was our Motel 6 hotel and then we were off to take a cursory tour about town.  These are our first photos of the beautiful state

We headed first to Papago Park with its Zoo and nearby Phoenix Botanical Gardens.  This gave us a flavor of the desert flora and fauna in the dry climate
